The Smith Family is an independent children's charity helping Australian children living in disadvantage to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. As we lead up to our Centenary, it’s an exciting time to be joining our family. We are currently seeking a Youth Career Coach to help us achieve The Smith Family’s vision.

Work closely with Family Partnership Coordinators and Program Coordinators to achieve an integrated approach to support young people and their families, with the focus on providing coaching.

A day in the life of a Youth Career Coach might look like this, but really every day will be different:

  • Providing one-to-one career coaching to young people aged between 15-18 years
  • Supporting the delivery and coordination of practical career-related programs
  • Working closely with operations teams within community
  • Maintain effective data collection and record-keeping to support outcomes measurement and evaluation

Successful candidates will bring the following:

  • Experience in coaching and supporting young people with complex needs to support them to transition into successful post school pathways
  • Knowledge and skills in coaching /counselling young people
  • Knowledge of career development frameworks
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly developed organisational, administrative and time management skills
