About You

Are you able to work with us to create a healthy, connected and vibrant community, bringing people together to connect, learn, grow and to strengthen?

You will be an enthusiastic, community-minded person with the skills, knowledge and experience to lead our committed team to connect and support individuals and the wider community. You do not need to have community centre experience, but you may have a background in operational and financial management, community development, project management and/or fund development. An understanding of working in the not for profit sector would be an advantage.

As our full-time Manager you will be responsible for the day to day operations, financial accountability and growth and development of programs and activities. You will report to a community-based Board of Governance of volunteers, responsible and accountable for the effective management of the Centre.

Your role includes initiating and nurturing relationships which bring our community together, enriching and strengthening community ties, while at the same time identifying future opportunities.

About Us

Sorrento Community Centre, one of 13 Neighbourhood Houses on the Mornington Peninsula, includes an Early Learning Centre and is located within Sorrento Village.

Sorrento Community Centre aims to provide a range of opportunities, activities and programs developed in response to local and surrounding community needs. The Centre Manager is delegated responsibility to manage day-to-day operations of the Centre and to develop and implement program development and policies.
