We are a leading Not for Profit organisation with a service delivery area spanning from Wollongong to Eden, across to the Snowy Mountains.
Comprising 8 offices and over 75 employees, we own and manage over $1 billion worth of assets, over 2,300 dwellings housing over 5,000 people.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Assessing and processing applications for Housing Assistance and interviewing applicants where necessary.
- Provide housing assistance to individuals and families, supporting them to achieve positive outcomes.
- Form relationships with support agencies to enable effective collaboration.
- Provide high quality frontline services to SCH customers throughout the tenancy lifecycle, including tenancy establishment, management and support coordination.
- Short-listing applicants, conducting eligibility checks and providing offers of housing.
- Completing rebated rent calculations for applicants and tenants.
- Completing NRAS rent eligibility reviews and completion of rebated rent reviews.
- Preparing leases for Tenancy Housing Officers.
- Assessment and delivery of Private Rental Assistance, Rent Choice Products and Rent start products.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Detailed understanding of the needs of people accessing Social and Affordable Housing, including clients from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
- Experience working with vulnerable people including those with complex needs.
- Strong engagement skills and ability to interact effectively and sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships in a non-judgmental and positive framework.
- Commitment to developing a positive workplace and cohesive team, in addition to fostering a safe work culture and to applying modern OHS practices.
Essential Qualifications and Licensing:
- Current NSW Drivers license
- Current Working with Children Check (will be arranged by SCH)
- Criminal record check providing suitable clearance to work with vulnerable members of the community (will be arranged by SCH)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications:
- Certificate/Diploma in Social Housing / Community Services, or
- Real estate license, or
- Equivalent work experience.

- A permanent (38 hrs p.w.) role located in our Nowra office.
