Collaboration for Impact is a leading capability building services provider in the field of place-based collaborative change and systems change. We support over 40 initiatives across Australia to drive social change, many based in regional and remote Australia.

The Opportunity

This role has responsibility for all financial accounting and compliance tasks for the organisation. It is the key role that ensures the accounting and finance function operates as efficiently and effectively as possible. The role reports to, and is supported by, the Finance Manager.

Your Day-to-Day

The routine responsibilities include:

• Processing all accounting transactions in Xero for revenue and expenses including payroll
• Obtaining approval for payments
• Reconciling bank statements, payroll, debtors, creditors and other general ledger accounts
• Managing the month end financial accounting cycle including processing of sales invoices, invoice payments, payroll, banking and review results for final approval
• Completing external compliance obligations including ACNC financial reporting, DGR reporting, BAS, FBT returns, and PAYG, Payroll tax, superannuation payments, audits and Work Cover reporting/monitoring
• Assist finance manager in designing and maintaining a suite of standard monthly, quarterly and annual reports to meet the needs of Board, CEO, leads and clients and funders, and annual reporting standards

What We’re Looking For

• Newly qualified or working towards CPA, CA or CIMA qualifications and/or demonstrated extensive financial operations experience

• Knowledge of Australian financial reporting obligations, and able to ensure financial policies and processes reflect regulations
• Highly competent with Xero
• Experienced in managing payroll in an organisation with up to 20 employees
• A competent user with MS Excel and financial software as a service
• Experience bringing process improvement
• Willingness to learn and grow into supporting the commercial elements of the finance function e.g. forecasting

This is a part time position contracted until 30 June 2023 with the potential for extension. The organisation has a bring your own devices policy.
