An experienced female disability support worker is sought to join a small team of stable long-term workers that support a young lady, in her own home, 24hrs 7 days per week in the Caboolture area (outer North Brisbane)

I love my dog and enjoy going on outings for a drive and walk with him. I enjoy new and interesting creative ideas that people bring to the role.

We are looking for a mature-minded experienced person to assist me with daily living. You must have excellent communication skills, be a skilled negotiator and be good role model. The successful applicant will have extensive previous experience supporting people with complex disability (not physical) and ability to work independently.

We are looking for a person that understands social roles, the importance of networks and connection, and is an advocate for inclusion. You respect the vision of people with disabilities and their families to live lifestyles that are valued and preferred by other citizens.

KEY DUTIES

• Assist with Daily Living including personal care
• Domestic assistance including cooking, cleaning and household duties
• Social and community engagement

Available Hours: (16 hours per week with 2 regular shifts – including a sleepover)

• Monday day: 9am to 4pm
• Friday sleepover: 4pm sleepover to 9am
  • Must have availability to cover occasional relief (for team of 7)
  • Complete all relevant training and buddy shifts as required.

Requirements:

• Female
• Minimum 2 years previous experience as a Disability Support Worker
• Ability to work closely with and take direction from the family.
• Physically fit due to nature of the role
• Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
• You will also need to be punctual, reliable, and well presented.
• Current Open Queensland Driver’s License.
• Current First Aid and CPR (or willing to obtain)
• Current Blue Card (working with Children check) (or willing to obtain)
• Current Yellow Card/ Yellow card Exemption (or willing to obtain a Disability Workers Screening Clearance)
• Auslan highly desirable but not required as training will be provided.
