The opportunity

The Director People and Culture is an integral member of St John NT’s Executive Leadership Team (ELT), responsible for the development and implementation of key strategic goals and priorities.

A key focus of the role will be the delivery of St John NT’s employee and volunteer value propositions, as well as workforce competencies for both our employees and volunteers to encourage a positive workplace culture. People and Culture initiatives will include: attraction and retention, reward and recognition, workforce planning and talent management, staff engagement, education, training and development, employee relations, and health, safety and wellbeing.

The person

To be successful in this role, you will be able to look beyond the current situation to identify future opportunities for the organisation and its service to the community. You will lead and develop the People and Culture Division, ensuring that they are a high performing team and regarded as effective partners by leaders and managers in other Divisions across the organisation.

Ideally you will have:

• Undergraduate and post graduate qualifications in a relevant field such as Human Resource Management, Organisational Development, Business Administration or Change Management would be highly regarded.
• Proven successful experience in providing strategic leadership at an organisational-wide scale and in leading a range of human resource management, learning and development or similar functions and services.
• Demonstrated contemporary knowledge of the full breadth of strategic and operational human resource management including change management, along with an evidenced ability to translate this into good practice in an organisation.
