The opportunity

As a for-purpose organisation, St John NT operates through three core pillars: the ambulance services, a commercial division and the volunteers division which provides youth leadership, community education and event health services across the Northern Territory.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the planning and development of St John NT’s volunteer strategy, to enhance community understanding and recognition of the volunteer services.

The Director Volunteer Services is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for leading the planning, growth and ongoing evaluation and improvement of volunteer activities to attract, induct, develop and retain volunteers including cadet and junior development.

The person

To be successful in this role, you will be a dynamic leader willing to contribute to St John NT’s strategic direction, facilitating cultural change and business growth across the organisation in line with its values and strategic goals. Ideally you will have:

• 5 to 10 years’ experience as a senior manager / leader, with a business development focus
• Experience and prove success in enabling business growth, preferably in a volunteer / community organisation
• Good knowledge of issues relevant to volunteer recruitment, development and retention would be highly regarded
• Knowledge and understanding of not for profit / community organisations is highly desirable
• Tertiary qualifications in business, leadership and / or management
• A postgraduate / Masters qualification in leadership / management would be highly regarded
