About the Opportunity

Our Strategic Plan states that we aim for St John Ambulance Victoria to be a great place to volunteer. The General Manager - Volunteers and Event Health Services is a key leadership role in the organisation’s executive structure. You will be responsible for leading and driving the volunteer experience, working with the management team to deliver commercial objectives through event attendance, working with strategic internal and commercial partners, ensuring quality governance practices and at all times thinking entrepreneurially and how we can continue to deliver services across the Victorian community.

You will help set and drive a clear strategic plan, drive the volunteer engagement strategy, manage budgets and contribute the strategic direction and plan as part of the organisation’s executive.

About You

We would really appreciate understanding how your skills and experience align with the above position description and selection criteria below:

  • Demonstrated executive level experience in volunteer and commercial services and operational roles
  • Demonstrated experience driving and achieving strategic goals in fast paced environments
  • Experience leading, coaching, motivating and developing volunteer workforces, management and functional specialist teams to reach their full potential
  • Background of promoting open and collaborative relationships across an organisation
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • A proven ability and experience in relationship management, and communication with internal/external stakeholders including experience in developing and progressing major client negotiation
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to take independent action to identify of new ideas or potential solutions
  • Experience contributing to an executive team and discussions
  • Formal qualifications in Business, Commerce or similar
