About the Opportunity

The Team Leader Communications is responsible for managing the dispatch team, consisting of Communications and Administrations Officers, to ensure a consistently safe, reliable, professional and efficient dispatch service for non-emergency patient transport (NEPT) and deceased persons transport.

Reporting to the General Manager Transport Services, the Team Leader Communications will recruit, train, manage and develop the dispatch team to ensure delivery of the best possible experience for our customers, patients and deceased persons.

The Team Leader will analyse and investigate opportunities to improve performance, decrease expenditure and increase revenue of the dispatch team, and as part of the Transport Services leadership team will make an active contribution to the success of all parts of the Transport Services business.

The Team Leader will work Monday to Friday, but manages a team which is operational 24/7. As a result, the Team Leader needs to be contactable as required to support this team over the phone, and on occasion may required to support in person.

About You

Essential Skills and Attributes (Selection Criteria):

  • Demonstrated experience working in a dispatch role, preferably within a transport environment
  • Experience working in a people leadership position, with ability to develop and maintain a high performing, collaborative team environment
  • Strong customer service orientation, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure, to provide clear direction and support to the team

Although not essential, on-road experience in an NEPT role or experience with rostering/payroll systems will be highly regarded.
