In early 2022, the St Kilda Football Club will proudly open the doors to the Danny Frawley Centre for Health & Wellbeing (the DFC), a world-class complex at Moorabbin, hosting a range of physical and mental health facilities, services and programs for the community’s use. We are seeking a high energy, values driven and innovative Director – Danny Frawley Centre to join our Executive Team and bring the vision of the Danny Frawley Centre to life.

About the role

Reporting to the CEO and working alongside the Executive Team, you will lead the strategic and operational aspects of the DFC including the delivery of a range of programs, services, research, and advocacy in partnership with a host of Club and community stakeholders.

You will fulfil the club’s vision of establishing Australian sport’s most impactful approach to supporting the holistic health & wellbeing of athletes (past & present) and the communities in which they live. You will do this by ensuring the programs delivered are evidenced-informed and aligned with our philosophy of early intervention and the promotion of mental fitness across our key audiences.

Broad in scope as the centre evolves, this role provides the opportunity to make your mark in an industry leading facility and play a crucial role across the unique intersection of sport, community, and wellbeing.

About you

A dynamic leader, you are capable of building impactful relationships with delivery partners, clients and staff. Your passion for delivering impactful mental health and wellbeing outcomes for all is evident and your ability to bring people along on the journey sets you apart from the rest. Your expertise in wellbeing science, combined with your track record in program development and ability to leverage the Saint’s unique sense of belonging created in the community will be paramount.

Building and leading a team of staff and collaborators to optimise the impact of our work will be critical to your success. Finally, you will have a passion for innovation, research which furthers the field of wellbeing science and ultimately translating the knowledge and experience born out of the DFC into positive community impact. Your exceptional external presentation skills, including public speaking will be a bonus!

What you need

  • Significant experience in programming, private practice, coaching or community capacity building in line with the purpose and vision for the DFC
  • Relevant psychology and wellbeing science qualifications and registrations
  • Health management and leadership experience
  • A strong understanding of clinical governance frameworks and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to working with a broad range of stakeholders (government, academic, service providers, media, community/client groups) and building/maintaining good partnerships
