We are seeking a couple of passionate Casual Program Facilitators to join our talented Community Engagement team.

About the role

We’ve teamed up with MOVEMBER to deliver one of their most successful programs Ahead of the Game. Aimed at young male athletes, Ahead of the Game seeks to equip players, parents & coaches with the tools to recognise and work through mental health challenges. Athletes also learn how to build resilience and overcome challenges in sport and life. https://aheadofthegame.org.au/.

Reporting into the Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for empowering young athletes to improve and manage their mental health through the delivery of the Ahead of the Game program to football clubs across Melbourne's southern region.

You will:

  • Facilitate engaging workshops both face to face and online with players, coaches & parents.
  • Assist the Program Coordinator with planning, set-up and pack-down of program sessions etc.
  • Facilitate feedback loops and measurement of program outcomes.
  • Support community clubs with workshop communications.

You will also receive Mental Health First Aid training and be provided with Ahead of the Game Facilitator Training via MOVEMBER.

About you

You have a fun and enthusiastic nature with a passion for mental health and working with children and young adults. Your ability to engage, build rapport, and make connections with program participants of various levels and ages is your key strength. You have strong coaching experience and are a confident speaker who creates a safe and engaging space for young people to experience the program. An interest in Australian Rules Football will also ensure your success!

What you need

  • Demonstrated facilitation experience (preferably in a youth setting)
  • Tertiary education in allied health, psychology or education is desired, but not essential.
  • Ability to work flexibly and facilitate sessions outside of business hours.
  • Current Drivers License & own/have access to vehicle for transport.
  • Valid Victorian Working with Children Check.
