about the role

Working as part of the Community Recovery Unit, this role will provide vital support, advice and guidance to community organisations and the not for profit sector in the development and management of volunteer programs and arrangements. This position is key for the community's recovery from the impact of COVID-19.

As a Volunteer Capacity Officer you will be responsible for:

  • Creating opportunities for communication, engagement and networking
  • The development of events, programs and initiatives
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders
  • Providing opportunities for capacity and skill development with the community groups and not for profit organisations

This is a temporary full time position until 30 June 2022 with an annual salary range of $73,745 to $84,735 per annum + 10% superannuation + a monthly Accrued Day Off arrangement. Part time arrangement of 30+ hours per week may be considered. Secondments from other Government agencies welcomed.

To succeed in this position you will need:

  • Experience working in a community development role / environment
  • To be well organised and have great relationship building skills
  • Passion for working with the community and helping others
  • History of delivering successful projects, programs and / or events
