Our Service

headspace Centres act as a one-stop-shop for young people who need help with mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drugs and/or work and study support.

Role overview

  • Acts as the central point of communication and provides a superior level of secretarial and reception services to young people, clinical and management headspace staff.
  • Medical Reception duties including taking incoming calls and directing the caller to the appropriate member of staff
  • Appointment scheduling and maintenance of clients
  • General Office duties including opening and distribution of mail typing, scanning, filing and archiving
  • Assist in the closing and securing of the building at the end of the day.
  • Typing of Medical letters to members of the clinical team

Requirements

  • Ideally a completed Cert III in Medical/Business Administration (or other relevant qualification)
  • Excellent administration, time management and organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the health /NFP sector with an ability to liaise with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Proven record in working closely with and being a successful member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Well-developed customer service skills
  • Ability to think and act calmly and deal sensitively with distressed people.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills
  • Understanding of duty of care, rights to privacy and confidentiality
  • Must have good availability
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a WWCC
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance 
  • A current unencumbered driver's license
