The Organisation

STRIDE EDUCATION is passionate about making change in a changing world. For over 30 years, we have been delivering social and emotional wellbeing programs to students, teachers and parents. Our programs offer key tools, or what we call STRIDE STEPS, that offer practical and easy to implement skills that help our students take life in their stride.

Our program framework equips students with 21st-century life skills in the following categories:

CONFIDENCE, CONNECTION, COLLABORATION, COMMUNITY, CONTRIBUTION, COMMUNICATION, CRITICAL THINKING.

Our signature programs are delivered in primary and secondary schools across Australia. Programs include Peer Support, Peer Mediation, MPower friendship program, Revved Up emotional management program, Leadership, Supportive Friends, The Resilience Toolbox, iPrep and more. These are facilitated over a full day, half-day, or 2-hour period.

The Position

Are you passionate about helping young people grow and learn social and emotional learning skills so that they can thrive in their lives?

This is an exciting opportunity to connect with a diverse range of young people and assist them in developing greater self-awareness and develop healthy and respectful relationships.

We are looking for energetic and authentic program facilitators to run school workshops in Melbourne metro, regional and occasionally interstate. School workshops are delivered in both primary and secondary schools. Workshops can be adapted to be delivered online on a needs basis. Workshops include interactive activities, discussions, presentation and occasional improvisation. Training and professional development are held at our Bentleigh East Head Office.

About you

You are passionate about helping young people be more resilient and develop healthy social and emotional learning. You are empathetic, non-judgmental and inclusive. You are great at public speaking, training and facilitation and know how to engage and entertain a group.

Selection criteria

  • Preferably you are qualified in teaching or education, youth work, social work, counselling, life coaching, education, psychology, drama and training and assessment.
  • Passionate about working with young people
  • Mental health first aid certificate
  • First aid Certificate
  • Current working with children’s check
  • Vaccine status as per government legislation for working in schools
  • Organisational skills
  • Time management skills
  • Leadership skills
  • Previous training/facilitation experience preferable
  • Previous classroom/group management skills
  • Flexible hours
  • Private indemnity and personal liability insurance
  • Own car and licence
  • Willingness to attend professional development days
