The St Vincent de Paul Society is a leading provider of community support services and has been assisting people experiencing disadvantage in NSW for more than 130 years. Our people reach out to the most vulnerable in our community through our Conferences, Special Works and Vinnies shops. About the Service

Castlereagh Industries is part of the Disability and Inclusion division of the St Vincent de Paul Society NSW and is strongly committed to enhancing the lives of people with disability. The services at Castlereagh Industries include textiles recycling to producing cut wipers and export clothing, significantly reducing the landfill burden. We supply our Retail Centre with high quality clothing from this product. Other services we provide for the local community include commercial laundry and car washing. We also operate a parcel delivery service within the town linking in with the Dubbo Couriers.

The Role

The Manager, Operations will ensure that the team continues to meet the high standards of customer service, production quality and support to people with disability in achieving their personal and career goals. Your demonstrated strong leadership skills are essential to ensuring the successful delivery of key service objectives.

The role is responsible for:

  • supporting staff in their daily performance and provide opportunities for professional development
  • ensuring that Castlereagh Industries maintain its commercial viability by establishing best-practice processes and procedures, and production quality controls.
  • developing and implementing continuous improvement activities, conduct regular review of production management plans of the business
  • building and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders and customers
  • managing the operational work plan and provide updates and reports on a monthly basis.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working in a time-driven and commercially sensitive work environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with, and be sensitive to, the needs of employees who have a disability.
  • Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and regulation and their practical implementation in the workplace.
  • High level organisational ability, including demonstrated time management skills and the capacity to manage numerous tasks simultaneously with the ability to meet strict deadlines and appropriately prioritise workloads and tasks.
  • Ability to provide regular, accurate and useful financial reports for key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining and establishing strong relationships and partnerships with customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
  • Proficient computer and keyboard skills and demonstrated capacity to use the MS Office suite including Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Higher level written and spoken communication skills demonstrating an ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders and community members from a range of backgrounds, needs and experiences
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Certificate of completion for The NDIS Worker Orientation Module - Quality, Safety & You or willingness to obtain Certificate of completion.
  • NDIS New Worker Screening.
