  • We are looking for a new team member, specifically one who has a good understanding of the needs of people with a disability, as well as a reliable and caring nature.
  • SCHCADS Award, Level 3, hourly rates range from $32.54 to $34.90 (depending on experience)
  • Perm, Part-time (21 hours per week, must be flexible to work across Mon-Sat 8am-3:30pm)

The St Vincent de Paul Society is a leading provider of community support services, whose mission it is to shape a more just and compassionate society.

The role:

Based in the Como area and works predominately with NDIS participants who have a psychosocial disability. Support workers with experience working with people with mental health concerns are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • providing support to people with disabilities in the areas such as personal care, health and well-being, accessing the local community, learning independent living skills and implementation of all supports in accordance to their funded support needs
  • working with participants to increase capacity, independence, and community connections
  • maintaining client records, data collection and reports in a professional manner as per service policy.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate III in Disabilities or equivalent (community services, mental health or related field); or currently working towards these qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of person-centred services to clients, including customer service skills.
  • A high level of interpersonal skills, good group facilitation skills, and the ability to work in a multifunctional team
  • Experience/understanding of maintaining records, service delivery, and of adult mental health experience
  • The flexibility to work across Mon-Sat from 8 am-3:30 pm
  • NDIS New Worker Screening.
