The Role

The Team Leader will oversee the team of Disability Support Workers at the site, and will ensure that the team is able to provide high-quality support for people with a disability. This support encourages developmental opportunities and supported decision-making.

This role will report to the Cluster Manager, Accommodation Services

Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

  • provide leadership to direct reports including performance and development planning, managing performance issues etc.
  • coordinating all aspects of onsite accommodation services including development of rosters, organising daily activities of clients and staff, overseeing shift changeover processes, completing documentation required
  • participate in on-call roster to assist with issues relating to clients, staff, rosters, facilities or other after hour matters as they arise
  • build and maintain current working knowledge of local community supports and services
  • contributing to the growth in service provision and continuous quality improvement.
  • communicate effectively with all stakeholders in a professional manner and ensure ongoing
    positive relationships are formed with funders, peak bodies and other key stakeholders

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum TAFE Certificate IV /Relevant tertiary qualification/s and / or demonstrated experience in community services and / or other relevant areas.
  • Experience working with challenging and diverse client groups with the ability to use sound judgment and act appropriately in crisis and emergency situations
  • Demonstrated ability and confidence in staff supervision, site management and the management of complex/challenging behaviors.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple and competing work tasks and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, including cultural sensitivity and cross-culture communication
  • Current First Aid certificate.
  • NSW driver license and ability to travel.
  • NDIS New Worker Screening
