Your New Role

Rare Opportunity to join our busy Vinnies Support Centre based in Bankstown supervising all required activities ensuring its smooth operation in delivering a superior service to our clients. You will also be working closely with Conference members and provide administrative support to the regional President.

Your responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the successful implementation of the Strategic Plan within related region together with implementation of effective risk management procedures to ensure compliance with legal, employment and governance requirements.
  • Provide a consistent client-centred approach for all client engagements.
  • Work directly with clients experiencing complex needs as required to effectively address, advocate and refer to specialist services.
  • Recruit, select, train and support a team of volunteers for various roles with the Vinnies Support Centre including overseeing university intern placements as required.
  • Build and maintain a collaborative team environment including team meetings and professional development and training.
  • Work closely with the Team Leader to implement procedures to support the administration and growth of membership and membership networks to support the work of Vinnies Support Centre.
  • Report accurately and regularly as required by the Vinnies Support Centre Team Leader on Centre activities

To be successful, you will need:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications/s in social sciences, education, social work, psychology, welfare, health studies or related area
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessment within disadvantaged communities and individuals
  • Ability to effectively lead and develop a team
  • Experience in training employees or volunteers
  • Computer literacy in MS Office and database systems
