Your new role:

The Metropolitan Warehouse Manager will oversee busy warehouses in Auburn (base location) and Brookvale, both are critical to the provision of stock and goods to the entire Metropolitan retail network and to people we assist. This is a hands-on role that will require physical work. You will be a strong leader with extensive knowledge of warehouse operations to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity. Whilst weekend work is rare, you will need to be flexible to meet business needs. Possession of a current forklift licence will be an advantage.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, develop and implement performance development strategies; encourage personal and professional growth of direct reports and warehouse staff.
  • Manage all activities relating to sorting, turnover and stock procurement; ensure emergency goods are always on adequate level at all times.
  • Implement policies and procedures consistently across warehouse operations, including the security of valuable resources and the safety of warehouse staff.
  • Implement a new warehouse management system.
  • Identify and evaluate operational constraints or issues affecting stock turnover and delivery, and be able to implement effective solutions.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review/analyse profit and loss reports and assist in preparing budget.

To be successful, you will need:

  • Proven experience and skills in managing a warehouse or distribution centre.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience driving a culture of engagement, safety and training.
  • Ability to analyse profit and loss data and prepare budget.
  • Sound knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.
  • High level of organisational and time management skills.
  • Valid NSW driver licence.
