WHAT'S THE ROLE ABOUT:

We are looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to provide effective financial and business support services to Unisson Disability's client services operations as well as other internal and external stakeholders through system and procedures that aim to continually improve our efficiency, performance and capacity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assisting with producing monthly financial reports and financial year end report to specific deadlines.
  • Performing BAS lodgement & preparing and maintaining Finance System.
  • Managing government funding information.
  • Maintaining fixed asset register and perform depreciation running.
  • Assisting with budgetary control for each section and the interpretation.
  • Suggest, develop and implement continuous improvement strategies that will assist in maintaining and efficiency for Unisson.
  • Assisting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables functions.
  • Perform balance sheet GL reconciliation on regular basis.
  • Monitoring the organisation's bank accounts and perform bank reconciliations.
  • Ensuring sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational requirements.
  • Assisting application process of corporate credit card and usage reconciliation.

  • Excellent problem solving skills, flexibility and lateral thinking with strong attention to detail.
  • Good planning and organising skills (ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively to achieve individual and team requirements and results).
  • Excellent teamwork along with good communication skills (to be able to listen effectively, convey and receive ideas, information and direction).
  • Emotional intelligence, resilience and physical capacity to perform the work required.
  • Knowledge of disability sector and Unisson's Values.
  • Positive and can-do attitude.
  • Systems - able to pick learn quickly and understand how things flow together.
  • Have Tertiary qualification in business or accounting - Bachelor of Business or Commerce or a degree in Finance or equivalent.

All our staff are required to hold a NSW driver's license (P2/full). As we work with vulnerable people, the successful candidate will also be required to undergo an NDIS Worker Screening Check.
