We are recruiting for Part Time and Casual positions available in our Shared Living house on Burns Road, Wahroonga.

Your role will be to support the people who live in the houses by demonstrating our person centred active support values.

What does the role look like?

Whether you're new to the industry or have been around for a while, we are looking for enthusiastic and innovative people who have a passion for supporting people in their home in a shared living arrangement. We also seek people who understand the importance of supporting and encouraging a continuous connection with family, friends, work and community. A day in life of our support workers may include;

  • Supporting with daily living skills such as cooking and shopping;
  • Transporting clients in vehicles or supporting them on public transport;
  • Promoting positive interactions and community inclusion;
  • Supporting with personal care including eating, toileting and bathing;
  • Providing support and assistance to achieve individual personal goals.

Our ideal candidate has;

  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure and juggle competing priorities
  • The ability to positively engage in self-reflection, be creative and proactive in identifying and responding to change
  • The ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Availability to work different rostered shifts, weekends, evening shifts and split shifts including sleepovers and active nights.
  • Hold a current NSW P2 or Full Licence
  • A current First Aid Certificate and Working with Children Check (if needed)
  • Prior experience supporting people with a disability.
  • Experiences and understanding in supporting a person with mental health.
  • Experiences in supporting someone with behaviours of harm.
  • Experiences in supporting someone with dementia.
  • The capacity to adapt to the different support needs of the house.
  • Prior experience in following behaviour support plans.

As we work with vulnerable people, the successful candidate will also be required to undergo a NDIS Worker Screening Check, conducted by Unisson Disability.
