THE ROLE

As a result of the continued growth of the organisation, a new full-time opportunity is now available for a Full Time Indigenous Business Officer Based in Darwin (NT) to join our National team in late July / early August 2022.

Working within the Indigenous Business team, the Indigenous Business Officers' overall objective is to ensure that our Indigenous Business verification program maintains the highest standard of integrity and authenticity and that Indigenous businesses' needs and enquiries are actioned where required.

This role will suit a strong communicator who is process focused with a keen eye for detail.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, Indigenous Business the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for assessing and verifying applications from Indigenous businesses for Supply Nation Certification as well as conduct annual and random audits of existing Supply Nation Indigenous businesses registered on Indigenous Business Direct.

The Indigenous Business Officer (NT) will also be responsible for assessing Indigenous businesses joint venture applications to be registered on Supply Nation’s Indigenous Business Direct, assisting in conducting investigative audits and the investigative processes where required, providing support to team members as identified and negotiated with the line manager and to work collaboratively with the Indigenous Business team as required.

• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Indigenous societies, cultures and issues affecting Indigenous Australians in business
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of small to medium business enterprises and business structures
• An investigative mind that does not take information at face value and critically assesses information against a set standard
• High level communication, analytical and liaison skills; in particular skills relevant to working with Indigenous communities and other key stakeholders

Demonstrated understanding of the Indigenous business sector, and previous experience working on Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander issues/projects will be highly regarded.
