The Role:

VincentCare Victoria is seeking an enthusiastic person with experience in managing a busy reception, area as well as eagerness to work in the welfare sector, to take on the position of Receptionist at the new Ozanam House accommodation and Homeless Resource Centre.

Ozanam House, situated within the Inner Melbourne Community Hub, features an open-access drop in Homelessness Resource Centre (HRC) where people aged over 18 experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness can access a suite of services including drop -in support (i.e., meals, laundry facilities), case management, a health platform, and initial assessment and planning. The building also encompasses a 60-bed crisis accommodation, 48-bed extended stay units, and 26 independent living units for people experiencing homelessness.

This position is integral to the functioning and co-ordination of Ozanam House as a whole. It is located both physically and functionally as the first step of engagement with clients, visitors, volunteers, exterior agencies and contractors to Ozanam House and the HRC. Given the volume of both clients accessing, and the services provided by Ozanam House, it is a very fast paced and highly valued position.
