The Role

Reporting to the State Homelessness Service Coordinator, the Hostel Coordinator will oversee the day to day operation of the Mt Isa Hostel and coordinate service delivery in accordance with the relevant funding guidelines and the model of Service. A key component of this role is ensuring accountability for program outcomes, staff performance, financial viability, resource management and quality service provision.

To be successful in the role, you will meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant Post Graduate Qualifications or tertiary qualifications in Community Services or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in a coordination and program management role within the homelessness sector or similar
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of collaborative case management, applicable legislation and issues faced by disadvantaged groups in the community
  • Demonstrated experience in the delivery of individualised support to clients for the development of basic living and home management skills
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills with previous experience in management, leadership, team building and change management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop safe work practices and monitor and comply with all relevant Workplace Health and Safety legislation
  • Demonstrate genuine respect for all people regardless of their situation
  • Understanding of and commitment to the philosophy of the St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland and an ability to work in accordance with policies and procedures to promote the values and mission of the Society
