SCOPE OF POSITION

As the Register Coordinator will coordinate, develop, and manage the Tandem Participation Register. The register ensures the voices of those with lived and living experience as family and friends of those with mental health challenges are heard across the reform process.

As someone who is motivated to provide excellent service, you will ensure that processes are easily navigable for new and existing members, contacting and engaging with members on a regular basis.

Utilising the CRM software, you will keep accurate data which enables Tandem to respond to requests for register participants to take part in activities relevant to their experiences and strengths.

Ideally you will have a working understanding of the mental health system, and a familiarity with the reform process as laid out by the Royal Commission.

If you are passionate about mental health reform, and keen to work with a bunch of committed and like-minded people consider this role.

ROYAL COMMISSION INTO VICTORIA’S MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM

The Victorian Government initiated a Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System in February 2019 with the aim of reporting on how Victoria’s mental health system can “most effectively prevent mental illness, and deliver treatment, care, and support so that those in the Victorian community can experience their best mental health, now and into the future”. The Victorian Government has committed to implementing all 65 recommendations made in the report which was published on 2 March 2021.

The final report of the Royal Commission recognised the centrality of “lived experience to the planning and delivery of mental health treatment, care, and support services” (Executive Summary p19). Lived Experience refers to the experience of seeking help directly for mental health challenges or being a family member by birth or choice, friend, or supporter of someone seeking assistance.
