Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation (TCAC) is a community controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from the Alice Springs Town Camps, Urban Alice Springs and Central Australia.
The Community Safety & Social Services (CS&SS) Division includes a variety of programs including Family Support Services (FSS) that address the social services needs of Aboriginal community members in the Town Camps and urban Alice Springs. A central aspect of the division is supporting children and their families who have experienced and responded to traumatic events in their lives.
FSS provides support for the whole family with a focus on the best interests and outcomes for children. The program provides intensive case management and tailored support to all families in Alice Springs with children aged 0-18. We work according to the needs of each individual family, using an approach that is strengths based, child centred, and family focussed.
The service aims to support families to create and foster safe and nurturing environments for children, strengthen parenting capacity and increase resilience, and promote positive outcomes for children and families.
Through assertive outreach and intensive case management, the Connecting Dads outreach and support worker will support fathers to develop parenting skills, develop reparative relationships with their children and increase their capacity to address safety concerns and keep children and young people safe from harm.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills who is committed to working with vulnerable families and children. Additionally, they will engage with stakeholders and community members to promote the program, ensuring it is culturally safe and accepted by individuals, families, and communities across the Alice Springs region.
