This position works closely with all staff across the Council in developing and implementing IT strategies to meet immediate and long-term Council business objectives.

A key requirement of this position is to work collaboratively with key stakeholders and Senior Managers to achieve required outcomes within established practices and guidelines, whilst acting as a point of reference providing expert advice on IT systems implementation, maintenance, planning, and industry trends and provides recommendations on system infrastructure.

It is critical that this position provide desktop support across the organisation for a diverse range of systems and programs.

Responsibilities

1. Identify and resolve problems related to network infrastructure, hardware components, operating systems, business software and office productivity applications.
2. Analyse the information needs of the Council and develop technological solutions to satisfy those needs in consultation with senior managers
3. Develop and maintain Information Systems policy and procedure manuals
4. Continuously monitor and maintain system access and security
5. Manage implementation and maintenance of new and existing information systems
6. Assist with achieving quality management objectives across the organisation
