Tangentyere Council Aboriginal Corporation (TCAC) is a community controlled Public Benevolent Institution delivering human services and social enterprise activities for the benefit of Aboriginal people from the Alice Springs Town Camps, Urban Alice Springs and Central Australia.
First incorporated in 1979, the organisation was finalist in the 2016 Reconciliation Australia, Indigenous Governance Awards and is one of the 10 largest Aboriginal Corporations in Australia.

The Youth and Community Safety Services (YCSS) Division contains several programs designed to improve health, education, and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal children, youth and communities. The Division includes the Brown Street Youth Service, which provides regular safe, and supervised activities for all young people. The Brown Street Youth Service aims to improve social and emotional skills and strengthen engagement with education, training, and employment. The Brown Street Service operates from 5.30 pm to 9.30 pm Sunday to Thursday and 5.30 pm to 11 pm Friday to Saturday.
The Team Leader, Brown Street Youth Services will provide leadership and daily support to Youth Workers who work within the Brown Street Youth Service. This includes planning, implementing and reviewing the activities and programs provided at Brown Street: supporting staff to deliver a vibrant and engaging suite of activities and services; ensuring the service and culture is safe and inclusive of all young people including girls and those who may identify as LGBQI; fostering and enhancing partnerships with external services that work with Tangentyere Youth Services and ensure the program complies with Tangentyere policies, procedures and quality standards.
The Team Leader, Brown Street Youth Services will have experience in supporting and managing staff. Have a good knowledge of trauma-informed practice. They will understand the intersectionality of disadvantage and strengths-based work. The Team Leader will lead the delivery of a range of culturally appropriate, diverse, and meaningful after-hours support services and activities for vulnerable young people. The Team Leader will actively value and include the voice of young people in services.
This position is an afterhours role – Tuesday to Thursday until 9.30pm and Friday to Saturday until midnight.
