About the role…

Taronga’s community impact program is focussed on delivering long term, direct benefits to wildlife and habitats by driving behaviour change through our guests and the wider community and supporting environmental innovation through our HATCH Accelerator Program.

Taronga is seeking a Community Impact Support Officer to facilitate the delivery of the HATCH Accelerator Program across three programs: Idea Generation, Pre-Accelerator and Accelerator, as well as other community conservation campaigns and guest activations in support of the wider team.

This is a great opportunity to join the first ever zoo-based accelerator program driving innovation to positively impact Australian wildlife or the natural environment.

Key accountabilities…

  • Facilitate the delivery of the HATCH: Taronga Accelerator Program within the agreed plans, including the co-ordination of partnerships and participants to maximise the effectiveness of the program outcomes.
  • Provide general administration and operational support to help ensure the day-to-day smooth running of HATCH, including course delivery (online and face to face), workshop and events.
  • Help to develop campaign activity and tactics, organise events, develop content and stories and analyse data.
  • Assist in the development and co-ordination of partnerships and stakeholders within the conservation industry to maximise the effectiveness of community conservation programs and campaigns.
  • Work effectively as a member of a high performing team, to assist Taronga in its achievement of strategic outcomes.
  • Comply with and suggest sustainability practices in the workplace to help achieve Taronga’s sustainability targets and reduce environmental impact.
  • Comply with and report any Work, Health and Safety incidents in line with Taronga’s Work, Health and Safety Charter.

About you…

We are looking for candidates that have/ are willing to:

  • Previous experience working on innovation or community engagement programs, ideally in conservation
  • Strong stakeholder focus and proven ability in developing these relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced multi-tasker that is solution focussed
  • Obtain and maintain a current volunteer NSW Working with Children Check at own expense.
