About US

TaskForce has been providing drug treatment services since 1973. Core services focus on addressing social issues of drug-related problems, unemployment, mental health and risk taking behaviours, supporting young people, adults and families to transition back into “mainstream” services and supports. TaskForce was excited to add the Reset Life Program in 2019 to the suite of services offered to clients ready to take the next step in their addiction recovery. This is an intensively supported and structured outpatient program for youth, based on the Matrix model.

About the program

ResetLife is a structured intensive outpatient program, with young people divided into two cohorts (11- 18 year olds and 19-25 year olds) attending three days at our Youth Hub for individual and group treatment, and encouraged to attend informal support (specifically SMART Recovery and 12-step programs) on other days.

The structured program involves 16 weeks of intensive treatment, followed by 16 weeks continuing care. In the first 16 weeks, participants attend:

  • Individual and family therapy sessions
  • Early recovery skills group (psycho-education on skills to achieve sobriety)
  • Relapse prevention group (2x per week for specific skills to prevent relapse)
  • Youth education group (information to encourage ongoing abstinence)
  • Social support (building social skills for a healthier life)

About the role

We are now seeking a skilled and passionate candidate on a part time basis (2 to 2.5 days per week) to join our youth ResetLife team and be responsible for facilitating groups for families. The role will improve the well-being of the ResetLife clients by supporting families with casework services and the provision of social and family education support groups. Working closely with the Primary Therapists, this role will build strong relationships with the young participants and their families. Applicants will require a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the delivery of clinical interventions (CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, etc) with people and families. A proven ability to effectively work with people and families experiencing problematic alcohol and other drugs use in a respectful, compassionate, and positive manner is essential.
