The Benevolent Society has been successfully appointed to work in partnership with the Commonwealth Department of Social Services, to deliver the National Disability Gateway Services. The Disability Gateway will assist people with a disability, their family, friends and carers, to locate and access relevant services and information across Australia based on their support needs.

About the role:

We have multiple opportunities for dynamic, outgoing, customer service professionals to join our broader support centre team as a central point of entry for referrals to disability information, services and programs.

You will be provided with ongoing professional training and development to assess:

  • Client's eligibility for services
  • Identify risks and vulnerabilities
  • Connect clients to Specialist Allied Health services
  • Assist callers navigate funding systems and link them to suitable support services

Max Term (12 months) full time or part time positions based in Glebe, NSW

About you:

You will be successful in this role if:

  • You are a compassionate listener
  • You have knowledge of disability services
  • You are passionate about working with individuals with a disability and their carers (including cross cultural) to help them achieve great outcomes
  • You possess high level interpersonal skills, time management skills and the ability to multitask
  • You have demonstrated computer skills including CRM systems

And ideally have:

  • Certificate III or IV or a Diploma in aged care, community care, disability services, community services or related area
  • Experience working in an organisation that provides health or community services
  • Experience in either a call centre or high volume call environment
