The Benevolent Society has been supporting children, families, older people and people with a disability to live their best life for over 200 years. We advocate, we're passionate, and we have an opportunity for you to join our Support Centre team.

Your New Role

This position is based within our Support Centre that will connect people to services they need. Our service is phone-based where you will have an opportunity to really build rapport and connect with your clients. You will:

  • Provide an initial assessment, to dig deep and understand the unique needs, preferences, goals and funding eligibility of your client
  • Connect your client to the right service options that will make a difference in their life
  • Develop service agreements, set up the customer profiles and make bookings to enable a smooth seamless experience
  • Identify service opportunities as your client is talking to you, and recognise when your client is going to need a more comprehensive assessment of their needs and escalate them to one of our experienced practitioners

Who we are looking for:

We are seeking someone who really listens and understands customer’s needs and is passionate about working with them to get the best outcome.

  • Diploma in aged care, community care, disability services, community services or related area. A degree and relevant sector experience would be an incredible advantage
  • Demonstrated experience working with people with a disability to assess their initial needs, identify services, and connect clients to those services
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to create an experience where a caller quickly feels heard and comfortable, often at a time when the caller may feel emotional navigating systems they may not understand
  • Demonstrated experience using a customer relationship management system
  • Ability to maintain an excellent working knowledge of a broad range of services and quickly match that knowledge to customer needs
