The Benevolent Society’s vision is to build a just society where all Australians can live their best life. For more than 200 years we have supported people at the margins of society: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians; children, young people, and their families; older people; carers and people with disability. We are an independent, non-religious service provider which supports people to live life their way.
As part of The Benevolent Society's vision, we are strongly committed to reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of Australia. We remain steadfast in our commitment to promoting the economic, political, and social inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
In this role, you’ll lead the implementation of Benevolent’s Data Governance Framework, using your data governance expertise and project management skills to standardise data practices and improve data quality across the organisation. You will transform our Framework from a theoretical document to an operational reality, collaborating with Impact Data & Evaluation team colleagues and data champions across the business to integrate it into their everyday. This role will support the ID&E and IT directorates to deliver a step-change in Benevolent’s data maturity, enabling enterprise-wide analysis and insights to inform strategic decision-making and understand our impact. Join us to make a meaningful difference in how we leverage data for social change.
You will play a pivotal role in implementing our organisation’s Data Governance Framework. You will chair the Data Strategy Working Group and collaborate closely with the ID&E and IT Development teams, alongside data champions throughout the business, to embed data governance policies and processes into practice. Your expertise will drive initiatives to enhance data proficiency across the organisation, enabling team members to use data to evaluate and improve our services. Representing the ID&E function on the Privacy Steering Committee, you'll identify privacy risks and develop processes that comply with evolving regulations. In partnership with the Director, ID&E and other senior leaders, you will shape our next Data Strategy, focusing on advancing our data maturity.
We support people to live their best life. That includes you, our employee. A ‘best life’ is unique to everyone and can change as life changes:
