Occupational Therapist - Flexible location

The Benevolent Society

  • Experienced occupational therapist
  • Work from anywhere
  • Negotiate your hours!

Our Story

At The Benevolent Society we’ve been supporting people to live their life, their way, since 1813.

Your new role

Your new team provides telehealth and face to face services for people with disability. As our new occupational therapist, not only do you get to join a team of amazing allied health professionals, you can also work from anywhere! And there’s space to negotiate your hours. Win!

While we’ve come to love the freedom working from home gives, we also know your own company can be lonely. To stay connected and build that sense of team, we encourage applications from people who live near one of our many offices across NSW, SA and QLD. Visit our website to see if there’s a place to connect near you.

Who are you?

You’re an experienced occupational therapist, with a passion for working with people with a disability to live their life, their way.

You’re comfortable connecting with clients and your team remotely, and appreciate that we can build warm, effective connections even when we’re not in the same physical place. That doesn’t mean you never see clients face to face. There’s some regional travelled involved. Sometimes you’ve just got to be there.

You might be supporting Allied Health Assistants working with the client on the ground. It’s one way we expand important occupational therapy services into regional areas. It means you’ve comfortable coaching support staff to deliver great client outcomes.

What’s in it for you?

Did we say flexible? Work from home or an office. Travel a little.

Negotiate your hours. Our day can happen anywhere between 8.00am and 6.00pm so talk about the hours that could work for you. Part-time or full-time? Let us know.

With 4 years of experience, the minimum hourly rate is $46.85, plus super and salary packaging (check out the calculators on www.accesspay.com.au if you’ve never worked for a not for profit).

Then there’s options to purchase up to 2 weeks of annual leave, access to long service leave after 5 years, paid parental leave, employee assistance program, discount fitness membership…

What do you need for success?

You’ll obviously need to be an AHPRA registered occupational therapist. Your practice is amazing. You’ll need at least two years of experience to keep up with this incredible team.

You’ll be supporting NDIS clients so an understanding of the NDIS and a passion for working with people with a disability is a big plus.

Still not sure?

Contact Clare Georges on 0466 735 005. She’ll be happy to answer any questions you might have.

The Benevolent Society is committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities and people we support and advocate for. We encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, people of all ages, identity and abilities. We pride ourselves on being a client and child safe organisation and as such all our staff and volunteers go through security screening relevant to the role.
