TeamHEALTH has become the leading not for profit provider of mental health services in the Top End of the Northern Territory. TeamHEALTH has provided outreach services, support and advocacy for Territorians with mental illness for over 30 years.

The Two-Way Mentoring Program aims to increase the economic and community participation of individuals who experience psychosocial disability. The program has two components:

  • The provision of training and mentorship to non-mental health organisations so they can best attract and support individuals with a psychosocial disability.
  • The provision of peer-led mentoring to individuals with psychosocial disability who wish to be employed and who are facing barriers to accessing existing career and work placement pathways.

Reporting to the Mental Health Supports Manager, the Peer Educator will participate in the collaborative development of resources and processes for the Two-Way Mentoring Program as well as provide support and mentorship for the participants involved in the Program.

Possessing qualifications in a relevant community services, mental health or related area the successful applicant must have personal lived experience of mental illness and an understanding of recovery model, peer work model, person first language and psychosocial rehabilitation.

This position is part time, 22.8 hours per week, and a fixed term contract up to 28 February 2023.

The successful applicant will be required to have a current National Police Certificate, Working with Children Clearance, NT Driver’s Licence and completed the NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
