The Antarctic Science Foundation is an independent body with the vision to create a better future for all life on our planet through scientific research in Antarctica and the Southern Ocean. We work closely with our public partner, the Australian Antarctic Division, which leads, coordinates, and delivers the Australian Antarctic Program for the Federal Government’s Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment. Our work relies on philanthropy built through strong and authentic relationships. Reporting to the CEO, this newly created position will be critical to creating a database-driven process to develop and maintain a genuine connection with our supporters, keeping them up to date with research breakthroughs and the latest developments in the Australian Antarctic Program.

In this role, you can work remotely, work-from-home or work from our base at Fishburners in the Sydney CBD. You may expect to have a face-to-face meeting with the CEO each week with additional meetings and events as required in supporter engagement. The Foundation's Head Office is in Kingston, Hobart.

The challenges in this role will utilise your skills in data administration, relationship management and marketing. Progressively your excellent interpersonal skills will come into play as you directly communicate with supporters of the Foundation and stakeholders in the broader Australian Antarctic Program. Ultimately you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks.

Ideally, you will already be familiar with the Salesforce platform, but you will certainly be a fast learner if not. You will also be familiar with the digital marketing tools and technologies available to support your work: SEO, social media marketing, paid search and email marketing. And you will possess competency in the MS suite – Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.

You will have excellent research skills. Part detective, part investigator, you possess the empathy and understanding of others who might be interested in becoming a supporter of the Foundation. You might have gained your relational skills and experience in a busy agency environment or with a loyalty program. You may be a star performer at a sporting club where you have helped build the brand presence, understand what drives supporters and facilitate the journey to deepen their ongoing commitment.
