I am seeking a Key Worker - Support Worker who is innovative, authentic and determined to make a difference and contribute to researching programs & activities that lead me to a purposeful, inclusive, independent and valued life.
You will need the courage and persistence to make decisive actions and can identify opportunities for ongoing friendships, economic participation & community connections.
You will be responsible for leading my team of supports by communicating verbally or via email, phone & zoom while collaborating with therapists, mentors, training organisations and rostering. You understand organisational and team values and can develop a positive and motivated team culture.
You have a natural passion and empathy for social impact, inclusiveness, equality and human rights while showing leadership and accountability.
You have brand awareness knowledge and can showcase me on Instagram and other social media channels as a valued community member and highlight my musicianship & talents. Connecting and networking with like-minded people and other musicians via social media by telling my story, photos and videos are very important to me.
You have the ability to use your own initiative and understand my vision and purpose by communicating this verbally and in writing to other team members, stakeholders, community members and therapists.
You are reasonably flexible with days and times and preferably live in the Moreton Bay Region - North Brisbane areas.
You could possibly be a musician yourself, have connections in the creative industries or be a university student.
I'm a 19-year-old musician with ‘perfect pitch’ who loves to jam with my musician friends. Playing the drums is my number one love, but I also enjoy playing guitar, cigar box and the electric bass… and sometimes the keyboard, piano, harmonica & marimba.
I’m exploring opportunities as a Community Musician while attending the Queensland College of Music once a week. I’m also kicking goals with yoga therapy and maintaining my health by keeping active and eating a mainly plant-based diet.
I’m on an entrepreneurial path, to start my own business - a social enterprise where I will share my passion for music with the wider community. I would like my key worker to help me with this and find me busking gigs and support in volunteer work.
I have a significant intellectual disability that impacts my communication, conceptual, adaptive functioning, social and practical skills, problem-solving and sensory processing. Although I have these challenges, myself, my family, therapists and my supports have higher expectations of me and believe with good intentionality, I will excel in life:)
My friends say I’m charismatic, talented and have super positive energy, delivering happiness to everyone, especially when immersed in my music. I enjoy going to live gigs and festivals and especially connecting with people in my community.
