The Co-operative Life specialises in Psychosocial Support Services and we are dedicated to working with vulnerable people and making sure that they don’t slip through the cracks.

We are growing and currently have a House Manager Assistant vacancy working in Campsie supporting participants to achieve their NDIS plan goals. This is an opportunity to join the Co-operative Life supporting individuals living with Mental Health conditions to lead meaningful lives.

The role:

  • The main objective is to support the Regional Director in the co- ordination, planning and control of the Housing project.
  • Ensure project management methods and standards are implemented throughout the project with minimal supervision from the Regional Director
  • Take reasonable care for their own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the company’s WHS policies and procedures
  • Take reasonable care that their actions or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of themselves and others
  • Coordinate medical and allied health appointments. Supervise medication compliance
  • Responsible for management of team, rostering, and reporting
  • Ensure the smooth day to day running of 3 SIL homes
  • Implement BSPs and capacity building activities
  • Collaborate with care teams and informal supports

Professional Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience managing group or SIL accommodation with supporting people in areas of complex psycho-social disability support, AOD, health and well-being
  • Knowledge and ability to implement contemporary approaches such as: Person-centred practice, active support, and willingness to be part of a high- performance team.
  • Computer literate: able to use MS Word, Outlook, rostering software & be comfortable with data entry
  • Thorough understanding and commitment to WH&S Act 2011
  • Equivalent to Certificate IV in relevant studies, or equivalent tertiary degree; equipped with relevant knowledge and experience
  • A current valid unrestricted driver’s license
  • Having own insured vehicle
  • A reasonable level of physical fitness, health and resilience to fulfil the physical demands of the role.
  • a current Police Check (National Police Certificate)
  • a current valid First Aid Certificate

Interpersonal skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated capacity to collaborate as part of a diverse team and work autonomously.
  • High level of stress resilience and emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and use initiative.
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrated flexibility in methods of alternative and augmentative communication, particularly being able to use active listening skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills. Crisis management experience required
