Located in the heart of Melbourne, the Centre Against Sexual Assault [CASA House] is a department of the Royal Women's Hospital. CASA House works with people of all genders (including trans and gender diverse people and communities) and provides 24-hour services to victim/survivors of sexual assault, including immediate crisis care, counselling, support and advocacy, after hour’s crisis response, support groups & assistance to non-offending family members and friends. CASA House also provides secondary consultation, education and training, research and public policy advocacy.

CASA House Trainers are responsible for the high quality delivery of CASA House training packages. Trainers will work to deliver CASA House training packages in line with CASA House training standards and professional code of conduct. This CASA House training role will be required to deliver education and training to participants from a diverse range of backgrounds and organisations. This person will work both independently and in co-facilitation capacity with a CASA House Counsellor-Advocate. The training role will be required to contribute to the review and development of new training packages as needed.

All services are delivered within a clearly articulated intersectional feminist, rights advocacy, violence and trauma informed practice framework.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Provision of education and training activities based on an intersectional feminist, rights advocacy, violence and trauma informed practice framework
  • Provision of leadership within CASA House, the Women’s and the field on best practices in responding to sexual assault and violence prevention programs.
  • Monitor and be accountable for the provision of education and other prevention activities
  • Demonstrate the involvement a range of stakeholders in the planning, implementation and evaluation of education and training initiatives
  • Ensure that project timelines for externally funded projects are met

To be successful within this role you will need to have:

  • University obtained Bachelor degree (ideally in Social Work or a relevant health profession)
  • Experience in developing and delivering learning / training programs and community education
