About Us

The Shepherd Centre (TSC) is a highly regarded not-for-profit, providing specialised programs for children with hearing loss and their families. Our programs meet the needs of children of all ages; from our world-leading early intervention system for babies and toddlers, through to our mentoring program ‘Hear for You’ for school-aged children and teenagers. We have been enabling children with hearing loss to develop their listening and spoken language, literacy and social skills for over 50 years, ensuring they can go on to achieve their full potential in life. We currently support over 700 families all over Australia with telehealth for rural and regional areas and 7 in-person centres in NSW and ACT. Our global platform HearHub, supports health professionals working with children with hearing loss all over the world.

About the role

We are entering an exciting new chapter at TSC, as we grow and expand our services to even more children and families and we have a number of exciting projects happening right across the organisation.

We are seeking a highly motivated Gifts in Wills Coordinator, to work with our friendly and supportive Fundraising and Marketing team. This is a part-time, maternity leave cover position based at our Newtown centre (head office), working 23 hours, ideally over 3 - 5 days. Actual days and hours will be negotiated with the successful candidate. The role focuses on supporting and growing the Gifts in Wills program (people wishing to leave a gift to a charity in their will), by identifying and nurturing relationships with potential prospects, from our current donor and supporter database.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Building and maintaining relationships with confirmed and prospective donors
  • Producing and delivering engaging content, to promote gifts in wills to existing donors and non-donors
  • Working with our individual giving team, to include gifts in wills messages in DM and EDM campaigns, telemarketing and social media
  • Estate management and reporting

About You

The successful candidate for this role could come from a variety of different backgrounds, including Fundraising, Community Services, Customer Service, Relationship Management, Administration & Office Support.

Ideally you will have:

  • Outstanding relationship management skills
  • A warm, genuine and friendly nature, with a natural ability to engage with people
  • Some experience in prospecting of existing and new clients/donors
  • Solid administration and technical skills
  • Previous experience in a Gifts in Wills role is an advantage, but not essential
  • A Working With Children Check (NSW) or willingness to obtain one
  • An NDIS Worker Check or willingness to obtain one
  • Full working rights for working in Australia
  • A driver’s license is desirable
