Speech Pathologist

The Shepherd Centre

About the role

We are entering an exciting new chapter at TSC, as we grow and expand our services to even more children and families and we have a number of exciting projects happening right across the organisation.

We are interested in hearing from highly motivated and enthusiastic Speech Pathologists, who would like to join our friendly and dynamic teams at our brand new Oran Park centre and our Macquarie centre (working across both centres). The role is initially a 12-month fixed term contract with a view to permanency. There is also potential to move into a role at one of our other centres (Newtown, Liverpool, Wollongong, Canberra) in the future.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Guide and coach parents/care-givers to become the primary facilitator of their child’s listening and spoken language development in their everyday environments, through individual, group and consultative sessions
  • Work with other team members such as audiologists and child and family counsellors, to provide an integrated approach to family goals around listening and spoken language
  • Develop, facilitate, implement, monitor and evaluate annual Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) with the team
  • Carry out NDIS activities, including drafting Service Recommendations and Service Agreements
  • Monitor and evaluate the child’s progress via formal and informal diagnostic assessment
  • Prepare and participate in delivery of group programs where required
