About the role

Reporting to the Community Services Coordinator, the Crèche Worker provides assistance and support to the staff team to ensure the effective delivery of the Children’s Services and consistently delivers a high standard of care and support.

The pool of suitably experienced and motivated creche workers will provide casual relief during leave or other absences and during high demands.

The service will be based in the northern suburbs and delivers services to clients across several sites including Heathridge, Merriwa and surrounding suburbs. This is an extremely rewarding job working with families in the local community and supporting childcare and development, whilst parents attend workshops.

About You

The Spiers Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Creche Worker to join our pool of casual relief workers.

You will be willing to work with minimal supervision, travel to various locations in the northern metropolitan area, have a passion for caring for children and be prepared to meet the physical demands of the position while also having an understanding of the childhood development process.

  • Qualifications relating to Child Care or equivalent or working towards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience supervising and providing a safe and caring environment for children under the age of 10
  • An understanding of the importance of play and the importance of parental involvement
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety
  • Flexibility and responsiveness to a range of situations
  • Ability to work flexible hours often with short notice
  • Mobility that will allow for the lifting and physical support of children
  • A National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than 3 months)
  • Current Senior/Apply First Aid (Asthma Management and Anaphylaxis)
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Possession of current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Before an offer of employment can be made, a National Police Clearance of not older than 3 months and current unrestricted driver's license must be submitted.
