The role

Reporting to the Fundraising & Campaigns Director, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within the Fundraising team, managing some of One Girl’s biggest income streams and working with some of their most passionate supporters.

This full-time position is responsible for engaging the One Girl community in raising both funds and awareness to ensure they can continue to grow programs and provide more support to the girls and their families that they work with, in Sierra Leone and Uganda.

This role will be responsible for the management and growth of the One Girl Ambassador Program, as well as driving income through their successful Universities and Schools Program and engage with more students and colleges throughout the year in both fundraising and advocacy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead the planning, development, execution and evaluation of key community engagement programs including Ambassadors Program, Schools Program and Speaker Program - in line with One Girl’s strategy, vision and values, as well as, ethical best practice.
  • Work with the Communications Director to engage One Girl’s fundraising community in advocacy priorities and campaigns.
  • Work with the Partnerships and Programs Director to update and develop programs briefs and snapshots to keep One Girl’s schools and fundraising community informed and empowered about our work.
  • Lead and manage a nationwide program to engage universities and schools and their students to become active fundraisers and advocates for One Girl.
  • Actively seek out speaking opportunities for yourself and other members of the One Girl team, particularly to coincide with important dates such as International Day of the Girl and International Women’s Day.
  • Build a team of volunteer speakers in each state and provide adequate speaker vetting and training.

About you

You are an energetic, collaborative individual who shares a passion for One Girl’s purpose to create change for girls and their communities through education. You bring proven experience in managing programs that generate income and confident working with large fundraising targets, able to confidently facilitate workshops and engage with diverse audiences.

Ideally, you will possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a community fundraising, engagement, youth work or public speaking role.
  • Exceptional writing skills, communication skills and attention to detail.
  • An ability to analyse data to develop recommendations and implement future strategies.
  • Creative and critical thinking skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Mailchimp eDM and/or Salesforce CRM platforms (highly desirable).
  • Ability to travel domestically, a valid Australian Drivers’ License and ownership of a vehicle (highly desirable).
  • Full Australian working rights.
