The role

Reporting to the CEO and joining the senior leadership team (SLT), the Fundraising & Campaigns Director will lead One Girl’s strategic fundraising and campaign direction through developing and implementing strategy. The Director is responsible for planning, management, resourcing, coordination and review of all fundraising and campaigns strategies; designed to enhance fundraising outcomes and ultimately increase One Girl’s supporter base.

This role is critical to the success for One Girl’s mission to harness the power of education to drive change for girls and their communities.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and oversee the development and implementation of the fundraising growth strategy, and overall fundraising activities and business partnerships.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Supporter Engagement strategy, ensuring optimum level of return on investment for fundraising programmes across all channels and ensure reporting is in place to regularly monitor performance.
  • Lead the planning, design, delivery and analysis of fundraising events, appeals, campaigns, and other fundraising initiatives, in collaboration with the Communications & Advocacy Director
  • Lead and manage the development of funding grants / proposals / expression of interest applications, reporting and acquittals in collaboration with the Programs and Partnerships Director
  • Development and oversight of fundraising and campaigns annual budget and work plan, leading a culture of accountability, staff empowerment, delegated decision making and a problem-solving approach.

About you

You are an experienced hands-on fundraiser, business development manager and people leader. You focus on creating and fostering long term relationships with donors. You might come from the NFP sector or have a corporate background, seeking to shift into a Purpose driven role.

While One Girl are based in Abbotsford, VIC, they are open to someone based remotely in Australia.

This role will suit someone who is not afraid to bring new ideas to the table; who can lead a passionate team (and fundraising volunteers when appropriate) to create and execute innovative and on brand campaigns; and who embodies One Girl’s core values of collaboration and challenging the status quo – all to amplify the voices of girls and young women!

Ideally, you will possess:

  • Interest and values alignment to gender equality and women’s rights issues
  • A tertiary degree (master’s degree is preferred) in marketing, or a related field. In the absence of a degree, extensive professional experience and proven results in the not-for-profit sector.
  • Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience leading the development and implementation of successful fundraising and campaigns strategies.
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-skilled teams with significant income goals, and delivering outstanding digital fundraising.
  • Experience building and maintaining successful donor relationships and partnerships - e.g. trusts, foundations, philanthropies, corporate businesses and major donors.
  • Experience using Salesforce (preferable) and able to analyse complex data and supporter insights to meet income generation targets and influence decision-making.
  • Experience working with CMS platforms (preferably Fundraising or similar), Google Ads & Analytics, Facebook Business Manager and email marketing platforms (preferably Mailchimp).
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, be persuasive, develop trust and maintain flourishing working relationships.
