The role

Reporting to the Group CFO, the newly created role of Group ESG Manager is responsible for working across the organisation to achieve reductions in St Vincent’s overall environmental footprint and increase the sustainability of its operations. The purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of the St Vincent’s Health Australia’s ESG strategy, and to develop, implement, and monitor an organisational ESG management system aligned with the Go Beyond strategy, Mission, Vision and Values of St Vincent’s.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute the corporate sustainability action plan and initiatives across the organisation
  • Provide technical expertise on key issues related to environmental and social impact assessment and sustainability risks
  • Leverage the SDGs to develop annual and long-term objectives for St Vincent’s Health Australia
  • Establish clear Board oversight of environmental sustainability targets and the environmental sustainability policy
  • Provide the energy and environmental components of the St Vincent’s Health Australia Annual report
  • Provide guidance and advice to the Executive teams on the requirements of identifying and implementing ESG related laws and regulations, and monitor compliance

About you

With more than 10 years' experience in the sustainability field, you hold considerable technical sustainability/ESG/environmental and social risk knowledge, preferably across industry sectors (including health, infrastructure, and/or manufacturing).

Additionally, you will possess:

  • Experience designing or redesigning ESG programs
  • A proven history of identifying environmental/sustainability risk and issues and develop mitigation measures to ensure compliance
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategy development, planning, implementation and evaluation including continuous improvement and major change initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in building leadership capability across a large organisation
