Volunteer Manager - Keep Victoria Beautiful

The company

Keep Victoria Beautiful is one of Australia’s oldest environmental groups, with a rich history in community reward and recognition. They are independent and have been combatting litter and illegal dumping using 50 years of experience and growing research to help Victorian residents and landowners protect our beautiful State.

The role

Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for coordinating and communicating with the key players from the rail operators, VicRoads, the Stationeers, and Adopt a Roadside volunteer groups to ensure contract deliverables are met. This will include meeting with clients and volunteers, securing access permissions, delivering OH&S training and delivering contractual reporting requirements.

The Stationeers program delivers the beautification of railway stations through strong community action in partnerships with Metro, VicTrack, PTV and V/Line.

The Adopt a Roadside program works with VicRoads with the aim of reducing litter on Victoria’s roadsides to stop pollutants from entering local waterways, improving the quality of vegetation, and preventing soil degradation and erosion.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing project plans, quarterly and annual reports, and attending partner meetings.
  • Preparing and managing the programs to budgets
  • Keeping program records up to date including regularly updating the data of volunteers in Stationeers and Adopt a Roadside
  • Managing the social media calendar for the Stationeers and Adopt a Roadside Programs
  • Developing the existing corporate partnerships program.

In addition, you will have:

  • The ability to manage and lead volunteers to ensure they are able to contribute effectively to the organisation and they feel supported to carry out their roles
  • A strong track record in representing organisations in a professional and positive manner
  • The ability to establish effective partnerships and communicate professionally with members, the public and external organisations.

Other requirements:

  • Must be flexible as this position will require travel in Victoria
  • Current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
  • Current Drivers Licence.
