We are looking for a Business Development Coordinator to join our team, and support our Partnerships team to nurture and grow our client partnerships.

We are mostly based in ngar-go (Fitzroy, Melbourne) and we welcome applications from all lands and backgrounds. About Today

We are Australia’s most awarded social impact agency.

We use design and technology to make change happen, at pace and at scale. In the last 12 months, we’ve designed and built Australia’s first online family violence intervention order, established a new approach to co-design for the Victorian mental health sector, built a peer-to-peer product that helps people learn Auslan, and launched a campaign to shift mainstream perceptions of climate change—plus many more.

Our practice is built on strong foundations of human-centred design and digital making. There are 50 of us (soon to be 60), based mostly in Naarm (Melbourne), working across strategy, research, design, content, delivery and a wonderful support team.

About the role

We’re looking for an excellent written and verbal communicator with strong planning and coordination skills who is keen to learn the ropes in a purpose-first strategic design agency. You’ll work to connect our strategic design offer to prospective client partners who want to bring their purpose-led innovation projects to life.

Day-to-day, you will support our Strategic Partnerships Manager in the coordination and management of Today’s business development efforts. You’ll be assisting in lead generation, managing our CRM and prospective client data, preparing presentations for business development meetings, and coordinating winning project approaches with the team. And you’ll coordinate the development of compelling project proposals, in collaboration with people from across the Today team.

You'll be working on;

  • Today's business development strategy
    • Managing inbound new business opportunities
    • Project managing inbound opportunities, timelines, communicating with prospective clients, and submitting responses to their briefs
  • Customer engagement and presentation support
    • Collaborating with potential clients, and corralling designers, technologists, strategists, and delivery folks to formulate winning approaches together
    • Managing client requirements, engaging with Today team members, and coordinating elegant, clear, and compelling proposals and presentations
    • Communicating what we do and how we work to prospective clients
  • Managing sales activities
    • Proposal logistics, keeping track of what needs to go out, who needs to work on it, when and how we should be communicating with prospects
    • Develop and report new business KPI metrics
    • Develop ongoing market insights, analysis, and reporting

Requirements

  • You have a passion for social and environmental impact
  • You have an appetite to build knowledge in Human Centred Design, design thinking, design strategy, and digital transformation
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You are well organised and detail-oriented
  • You are personable and collaborative
  • You have some basic graphic design skills (and an eye for design and layout is a bonus)
  • You know your way around a Mac and are handy with Google Docs/Sheets/Presentations
