Our objectives are to provide a women’s health service, based on a social model of health that is non-judgmental, non-discriminatory, accessible and affordable to all women, in particular by:

  • Contributing to community change by working collaboratively with other organisations and community members
  • Promoting and achieving positive outcomes in women’s mental health and well-being
  • Providing a space of home, health and community with support and assistance
  • Preventing and responding to violence and assault against women
  • Empowering and educating women in their health and lifestyle choices
  • Assisting priority and at risk women
  • Addressing isolation
  • Promoting healthy relationships, healthy families and to build a healthier Hedland community

Role Description

Reporting to the Program Manager, provide assistance to successfully deliver Health Promotion Activities based on the Social Model for Health.

The role includes providing support to develop, plan and deliver Health Promotion activities.

Key annual events include:

  • WOW Weeks
  • Pink Pilbara Breakfast
  • Monthly morning teas and other community events & workshops

This role will also be responsible for liaison with a range of community groups and forums.

Core Responsibilities

Budgeting

  • Assist in the tracking and reporting on program budget.

Marketing

  • Provide day to day assistance and support in all aspects of WWC marketing strategy.

Communications

  • Work with the Communication officer to contribute to social media postings.
  • Maintain up to date data base and distribution lists.
  • Distribution of promotional materials for HWWC programs , services and events.
  • Under direction of the Program Manager collate data and other statistical information.

Programs

  • Provide logistical support to programs and events , including registrations, shopping, catering ,photography etc.
  • Manage bookings and wait lists.
  • Provide oversight at programs and events to support facilitators and participants.

Personnel Management

  • Support the Program Manager in the recruitment and coordination of volunteers.
  • Conduct Volunteer inductions.
  • Maintain contact with Volunteers and build numbers.

Administration & Customer Service

  • Provide general administrative support as required including:
    • Front office reception
    • General inquiries and bookings
    • Digital filing of photos
    • Ad hoc after hours reception

Stakeholder Relationships

In collaboration with Program Manager, network and liaise with other community groups and relevant stakeholders.

Professional Development

Remain updated on technical and professional knowledge by attending educational workshops, joining professional associations, building networks with fellow professionals, and reviewing of industry publications.

Conditions

  • Annual Salary: $68,250 (salary sacrificing is available)
  • Annual Leave: 5 weeks, including 17.5% leave loading
  • Remote living allowance of $5,200 per annum
  • Travel allowance of $1,600 per annum
