The Salvation Army Golden Grove is a church wanting to enhance its ministry opportunities by employing a Business Administration Assistant to provide management and administrative support to the existing and growing ministries of the Corps. This role will provide management and oversight of the operational side, in order to release the corps officers to minister to the church and the community.

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Manage enquiries relating to the Corps (phone calls, website/social media responses, referrals from Doorways and walk-in enquiries).
  • Coordinate promotion of church worship events eg. Mother's Day, Father's Day, Pentecost, Easter, Christmas etc in conjunction with Corps Officers, Ministry Directors and Family Ministry Worker.
  • Support Corps Officers and Op Shop Manager with administration, training and onboarding of volunteers over whole site, ensuring paperwork up to date with the latest checks and training required
  • Design church processes and information flows enabling effective systems within the church.
  • Create and schedule content for Corps Social Media.
  • Maintenance of Corps website and ensure information is relevant and up to date.
  • Responsible for the adherence of all WHS obligations of the Golden Grove Corps in line with TSA Policy & Procedures & relevant legislations. Organise all WHS meetings and ensure all documentation is correctly recorded.

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a permanent part time position for 15 hours per week.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE

  • Certificate IV in business administration or equivalent, and/or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Relevant experience in business administration and office management in a church context preferred
  • Sound level of computer literacy and social media knowledge
  • Sound presentation and communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstrated understanding of pastoral life and church life culture
