William Booth House offers a rehabilitation program for those wishing recovery from addiction. We are recruiting a Cleaner to work at William Booth House, located in Surry Hills for 15 hours per week.

You will be responsible for:

Cleaning Services

  • Ensure the cleanliness of common areas (including residential & office areas, lounge areas, dining halls, kitchenettes, bathrooms, and other areas as directed) in accordance with the Cleaners Tick sheet.

Supplies & Equipment

  • Ensure paper towels, toilet paper and dispensers are replenished and functional at all times and provide cleaning aids for clients to use during work sections.
  • Assists in repairing small maintenance issues.

Occupational Health & Safety

  • To meet Occupational Health and Safety obligations in line with TSA Policy & Procedures & relevant legislation.
  • Reports all unsafe conditions, equipment, practices, and hazards

HOURS AND SALARY

This is a permanent part time position, 15 hours per week.

Salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Miscellaneous Award Level 2.

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrated experience as a cleaner - Minimum 12 months' experience cleaning, and desirable to have worked within a Community Sector
  • Relevant qualification and/or experience in Hygiene and Cleaning materials and methods.
  • Has undertaken training in the handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) regulation and storage of chemicals.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as in a team and with minimum supervision
  • Physical ability to undertake all cleaning duties
  • Confidentiality in case of conversations overheard or documents sighted
